10 Things You’ll Wish You Packed for Disney

As a travel agent, I help families plan magical Disney vacations —and I’ve learned that the difference between a smooth trip and a stressful one often comes down to what’s in your bag. Sure, you’ll remember the Mickey ears and matching shirts, but what about the essentials that actually make your park days easier?

Here are some of the most commonly forgotten—but incredibly useful—items to pack for your Disney World adventure:

  1. Comfortable Backpack or Park Bag

You’ll be carrying more than you think—snacks, sunscreen, souvenirs, water bottles—so pick a lightweight, comfortable bag with compartments.

  2. Portable Phone Chargers

Between mobile tickets, Genie+, and snapping 1,000 castle pics, your phone battery won’t survive a full park day. A portable charger is non-negotiable. I recommend Fuel Rod because you can exchange depleted ones for fully charged batteries at kiosks located around the park.

  3. Blister Bandages

Even the best sneakers can turn evil after 20,000 steps. Moleskin, blister pads, or Band-Aids will save your feet and your mood.

  4. Disposable Ponchos

It rains a lot in Florida—and often without warning. Pack a few of those disposable ponchos that come in small pouches you’re not paying $15 for a Mickey poncho in the park.

  5. Refillable Water Bottles

Water is free at all quick-service restaurants, so bring a refillable bottle to stay hydrated and save money.

  6. Cooling Towels or Portable Fans (or both)

Summer (and even spring) heat can be brutal. A cooling towel or mini fan around your neck can be a game-changer.

  7. Autograph Book and Pen

Buy these before you go to save money. If your kids are hoping to meet characters, bring an autograph book—or get creative with items like a hat or pillowcase for them to sign.

  8. Ziploc Bags

There are so many great uses for these so pack a few in several sizes. Use them for leftovers, unfinished giant suckers, wet clothes, protecting your phone on water rides, or organizing small items in your backpack.

  9. Gum

Fun fact: Disney World doesn’t sell gum anywhere in the parks. If it’s a must for you, pack your own.

  10. Hand Sanitizer and Wipes

Yes, Disney is clean—but thousands of people touch everything. Wipes are great for tables, ride seats, and sticky hands.
